Arrival and Dismissal

School Hours: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Arrival

Car Riders

Students are to be dropped off at the sidewalk(school side). Students will enter the building through the front doors. Faculty/Staff member will direct students each morning.

MTA/NCLB Buses

Students will be dropped off at sidewalk(school side). Students enter building through front door. Faculty/Staff member will direct students each morning.

PNA

Students who are a part of the Project Neighborhood Aftercare program(PNA) will enter the building through the front doors near the main office and travel directly to room 235 using stairwell #2. Hours of operation are 7:00a.m. – 7:35a.m.

Breakfast

Students who are eating breakfast in the cafeteria may enter the building at 7:30 a.m. and use stairwell #4 to report directly to the cafeteria. Faculty/Staff member will direct students each morning.

All other students are to report no earlier than 7:40 am and enter the building through the front doors at 7:50 a.m. (5/6 main entrance-left doors, 7/8 main entrance-right doors)

Upon entering the school building at 7:50 a.m. students are to visit the restroom and report to their classroom seat by 7:55 a.m. Instruction begins at 8:00 a.m.


Dismissal

Car Riders

Students are to be picked up at sidewalk(school or park side). Students will exit main entrance and travel down the stairs to 9th avenue south. Student crossing 9th avenue will be assisted by a staff member(cross at front stairs only).

Bike Riders

Students will exit through the main entrance and travel to the bicycle rack, and use the front drive to walk their bike down to the sidewalk before mounting.

PNA

Students are to be picked up in rear parking lot between 3:15 and 5:30. PNA students will be in cafeteria. Please Note: For safety reason, there is no pick up in rear parking lot prior to 3:15(Teacher Parking Only).

MTA/NCLB Buses

Students will exit the building through the Olympic Avenue exit and travel down the sidewalk to the corner of 9th avenue south and Olympic Avenue. Faculty/Staff member will direct students each afternoon.

Children will be dismissed by 3:00 p.m. MTA/NCLB, Walkers, and Bike riders will be dismissed first, followed by all other students by grade level(5-8).

All students should be picked up by 3:15 p.m. As a reminder, by accepting the invitation to attend a Magnet School, parents accept the responsibility of assuring promptness of arrival and dismissal of their child. If before and/or after care are needed, parents may give their child permission to attend one of the community centers, or call the school to be connected with the PNA program.

Please note: Arrival and Dismissal on 9th avenue will be one way. Parents must enter 9th avenue from Olympic Avenue and exit on Edgehill Avenue.
