Cicely Woodard

Cicely Woodard began her teaching career in 2003 teaching seventh and eighth grade mathematics. Since then she has enjoyed teaching middle school mathematics and for one year she served as a school based math mentor specialist.

She is a native of Memphis, TN where she attended the University of Memphis. She earned a B.S. in Mathematics in December of 2000. In 2003 she completed requirements for a Masters of Education degree at Vanderbilt University.

Learning mathematics in Mrs. Woodard’s student centered classroom is filled with solving real-world problems, using manipulatives to master concepts, and conversations built around student ideas and explanations. She is excited about helping students create a balance between mental math strategies, new skill acquisition, and problem solving.
